Championship History For 11 years, Brink's Colombia has hosted a National Shooting Championship in which teams from each region compete for the national title. Since 2000, the championship has been held under the same conditions: gun range, munitions, timing, and judges. The regional team with the highest score for a combination of accuracy and speed through the course is the winner of the event and enjoys recognition throughout the Brink's organization. Brink's Colombia organized the competition to train and motivate employees, and to reward those with the best performance record. Designed to simulate real- life conditions and situations, the course is changed each year to provide experience in responding to different criminal actions. Championships have been held in the following locations: Medellín in 2000; Cali in 2001; Cartagena in 2002; Bogotá in 2003 and 2004; Facatativa in 2005; ( Tolemaida) Melgar in 2006; Tocancipá in 2007; and Armenia in 2008. The central region has won the title four times, the Antioquia region twice, the southwest region twice, and the north region once. National Directors Meeting In Colombia, an annual National Directors Meeting has been held for the past eight years allowing the company president to convene with the regional managers and directors. Attendees have the opportunity to discuss the company's status, share ideas and prepare for the upcoming year. The National Shooting Championship final competition takes place at the closing event of the National Directors Meeting. And, in 2008, the two events coincided with Brink's Colombia's 25th anniversary, adding significance to both events.
