Page 6 Quarterly Feature On the island of Mauritius, a dream destination for tourists and vacation seekers, the islanders still commonly use arpents and acres as units of measure while certain locations maintain their French namesake. Today, Mauritius is recognized as a strategic business development opportunity for the Brink's organization which, despite its recent arrival to the quaint island, has become the leader in security solutions and is considered the reference in secure logistics. More than 4,500 customers are connected to the remote monitoring center which is a critical tool for surveillance and security. With 25 patrol vehicles on the island, Brink's maintains strict surveillance 24 hours a day. When the alarm sounds at the Brink's headquarters, a two- man team is on the scene in less than 15 minutes. The Brink's Mauritius team members pride themselves in their quick reaction time to calls. " To further expand our customer base, Brink's Mauritius plans to move into the field of Integrated Resort Scheme ( IRS). These are luxury complexes with villas and hotels for tourists," said Arnaud Espitalier Noël, the Director of Organisation and Development, Brink's Mauritius. " For example, our services will include a screening station and an on- screen control room with intervention patrols. As a specialist in the installation of wireless anti- intrusion and anti- fire alarms, Brink's Mauritius serves and equips 40 hotels on the island via CCTV systems. Other innovative technology developed by Brink's Mauritius includes biometric access control, gate automation, the use of fiber optics, and IP cameras ( via internet).
