July 2007 | The Brink’s Journal | Page 3 Selecting the right company to partner with can be a daunting task, especially when the company is handling your most precious asset: your valuables. Now, companies are looking beyond the ordinary for innovative transportation and secure logistics solutions. The several players in the logistics and risk management business are all vying for customers around the world. With daily advances in technology and the increasing complexity of the international supply chain, competition is fierce. By designating Brink’s as your secure logistics provider, you’re choosing proven quality from a company you know you can trust. With a heritage going back to 1859, Brink’s is the worldwide symbol for security, setting the industry standard of integrity. What Is Logistics? The need to securely track and trace documents, parcels and valuables throughout the world is becoming ever more pressing in today’s competitive marketplace. To meet these demands, logistics companies secure shipments, establish global alliances and integrate their capabilities worldwide, while serving customers in a timely, efficient and reliable manner. In the operational sense, logistics is the active and systematic management of the different tasks and transactions necessary to move goods along various points of a supply chain. These transactions consist of warehousing and facilities, modes of transportation, customs clearance for international goods, information systems and various support resources, including risk management. Automating operations through implementation allows a secure logistics company to streamline procedures and reduce costs by utilizing industry-leading services. Brink’s understands the logistics side of any business. Empowering a company with the tools to focus on their core capabilities without wasting time, energy and expenses on securing valuables is what the secure logistics industry - and Brink’s - stands for. Integrating Technology In an increasingly integrated global environment, businesses want secure logistics solutions to fit their precise needs and unique requirements. Thus, developing proprietary systems for customers is an industry essential in the present global commerce. Brink’s achievements are leveraged by a profound commitment to technology that improves secure logistics processes and enhances security services. Technologies, such as cash processing, ATM services, Web information tools, cash in transit, CompuSafe® Service and Brink’s iDepositSM are just a few mainstays Brink’s offers to help companies manage their cash supply chain. Drawing on years of security and industry experience, Brink’s customizes solutions for customer’s specific technological needs. No two businesses are alike, therefore finding the right solution to a customer’s logistics problem is hallmark. Security And Risk Managing the risks associated with maintaining confidential and valuable information is a hefty responsibility. The threat of loss is very real and requires well-executed services and an experienced logistics team to fulfill those customer requirements. From armored transportation to document destruction, security should be designed to prevent criminal activity before it happens. Extensive employee recruiting and training is critical in the secure transportation of valuables. However, not all companies have high standards regarding their employees or safety requirements, which can mean big problems for the customer. Brink’s invests in appropriate internal and external controls to help ensure more reliable financial statements and create better management information structures, including reconciliation procedures, segregation of duties and information technology enhancement. Providing stellar customer service is necessary for any logistics company. Brink’s strives to hire the cream of the crop for their employee base. Employees are continually trained to be courteous and professional while delivering superior service and quality control. Brink’s employees strive to improve the overall customer experience through the supply chain system when transporting customers’ valuables. Risk management is a pivotal focus in secure logistics. With several companies to choose from, it can be difficult to find the one company that you can trust to reimburse covered losses without being subject to nonstandard restrictions or delays caused by insurance review. With the most comprehensive insurance in the industry, Brink’s surpasses any competitor. Because of our commitment to excellence, Brink’s provides quality delivery of valuables to our customers. The bottom line is evident: Brink’s is more than armored cars.
